2015 Student Evening

2015 Student Evening

The Interiors Association annual student evening took place on Thursday 15th October last in The Stillorgan Park Hotel (now The Talbot Hotel) in Stillorgan.

It was a very successful evening with students and graduates from colleges all across Dublin attending.

The evening was hosted by The Interiors Association Student Representative Ciara Eloise Nolan who briefed those present in the opportunities available to them following their studies. She spoke about further education; avenues available in procuring employment; and the importance of developing their profile and portfolios.

Ciara was followed by John Gibson who shared some of his vast 50+ years of experience in the industry.

The final speaker of the evening was Roisin Lafferty of Kingston Lafferty Design. Roisin shared her experience of setting up her own design studio, the pitfalls and obstacles she encountered on the way and how a positive attitude and hard work are the corner stones of running your own business. It was a pleasure listening to Roisin speak and her enthusiasm and drive shone through on her presentation.

Thank you to all the students and graduates who attended and a very warm welcome to our new members who joined on the night.  We hope you found the evening useful and gained some valuable insights into what your future life in the world of design may hold.

Full notes from this presentation will be available for download on the members only section of this website very shortly.
